Job summary
ista SE is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java and Platform Engineering to design, develop, and operate scalable and secure Java backends and microservices.

Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in Java backend development (Software Engineer) or at least 5 years (Senior Software Engineer)
- Proficient in Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with cloud-native concepts
- Experience in agile teams and methodologies (e.g., Scrum)
- Fluent in English and German at least B2 level
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate scalable and secure Java backends and microservices using Spring Boot
- Conceptualize and implement REST APIs and event-driven integrations
- Operate cloud-native applications on Kubernetes, including CI/CD
- Ensure code quality, test coverage, and maintainability through code reviews and automation
- Participate in architecture and technology decisions
- Continuously improve engineering practices, including AI-assisted development
