Senior Software Engineer- SRE

Job summary

This Site Reliability Engineer builds and operates reliable, scalable systems for large-scale internet-facing services, using software engineering, automation, observability, and AI-powered operations to improve availability and performance. The role leads incident response and systemic reliability improvements, develops self-healing automation with workflow engines such as Temporal, Airflow, and Argo Workflows, and creates observability and AI/ML operational tools while partnering with engineering teams on SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of systems and software engineering experience for large-scale, internet-facing services.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, Linux/Unix internals, and internet architecture, including DNS, HTTP, load balancing, and caching.
• Proficiency in Python and Go.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and workflow orchestration engines such as Temporal, Airflow, or Argo Workflows.
• Production experience building and operating observability platforms.
• Strong knowledge of SRE practices, including on-call operations, incident management, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, postmortems, and toil reduction.
• Experience applying AI/ML to operations and using AI development tools.
• Preferred experience with AI agent frameworks, MCP, LLM-powered operational tools, open-source reliability or observability tools, multi-cloud or hyperscale environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident detection, response, and resolution.
• Conduct root cause analysis and blameless postmortems; implement systemic fixes.
• Design and implement automation platforms and self-healing systems.
• Build production-grade monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing solutions.
• Develop AI/ML-powered operational tools, including anomaly detection and runbook automation.
• Define and uphold SLAs and SLOs with engineering and product teams.
• Coach junior engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Reduce operational toil and improve detection and recovery times.
