Job summary

Reddit is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to enhance the reliability and scalability of its advertising systems. The role involves collaborating with engineering teams, improving service reliability, and driving automation and operational improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or related roles
• Experience supporting high traffic, user-facing production environments
• Understanding of distributed systems, networking, and cloud native architectures
• Programming skills in Go, Python, or similar languages
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across applications and infrastructure
• Experience with observability platforms and incident response
• Experience driving automation and operational improvements

Responsibilities

• Partner with Ads Engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of ad-serving systems
• Design, build, and maintain infrastructure and automation to improve service reliability
• Improve observability through monitoring, alerting, and dashboards
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response for production systems
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions after incidents
• Collaborate with software engineers throughout the service lifecycle
• Drive adoption of SRE best practices including SLIs, SLOs, and capacity planning
• Reduce operational toil through automation and self-service tooling
• Define and measure advertiser-critical user journeys
• Scale Ads systems to support traffic growth and advertiser demand
