Job summary

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer focused on Managed Gateways at Kong, you will architect and maintain resilient, scalable infrastructure for mission-critical managed services.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Site Reliability Engineer.
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong proficiency in Golang or similar programming languages.
• Proven track record in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
• In-depth knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
• Experience with managed services or API gateways is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Site Reliability Engineers.
• Architect and implement scalable, fault-tolerant cloud-native systems.
• Own the operational lifecycle, ensuring continuous service improvement.
• Implement automation and self-service tooling for API gateways.
• Define and report on key SLOs and SLIs for Managed Gateways.
• Advocate for architectural best practices to enhance system resilience.
• Collaborate with Product, engineering, and Customer Success teams.
• Drive onboarding and implementation of Cloud Gateways for enterprise customers.
• Handle unique customer topologies across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Serve as the technical owner of customer relationships during implementation.
