Job summary
Designs, builds, and operates cloud-native data platform components and services, taking features from technical design through production for US regulated markets. The role focuses on hands-on platform engineering with Kubernetes workloads, operators, controllers, automation, and platform services, while improving reliability, scalability, and operability through testing, instrumentation, runbooks, and on-call support. It also leads scoped projects and mentors junior engineers.

Qualifications
- 12+ years of software development experience with a bachelor's degree, 8+ years with a master's degree, 5+ years with a PhD, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience building, deploying, and operating workloads on Kubernetes
- Experience with at least one major hyperscaler, including core compute, networking, and IAM
- Track record of delivering complex features or services as a key contributor
- Knowledge of containers, CI/CD, GitOps-based delivery, and infrastructure as code
- Strong Go programming skills or experience with another systems language and willingness to work primarily in Go
- Experience integrating AI into engineering work
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate cloud-native platform components and services from design through production
- Lead scoped projects and turn requirements into technical designs and delivered features
- Align implementations with platform architecture and standards
- Improve reliability, scalability, and operability through testing, instrumentation, runbooks, and on-call participation
- Build Kubernetes operators, controllers, automation, and platform services
- Onboard and mentor junior engineers through code review, design feedback, and pairing
