Job summary

The Platform Observability Engineer role is essential for enhancing system visibility and reliability through a comprehensive observability stack that integrates metrics, logs, and traces. Responsibilities include improving alerting systems, defining instrumentation standards with OpenTelemetry, and empowering product teams to swiftly diagnose incidents. The position demands significant experience in platform engineering and observability, particularly with tools such as Loki, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in Platform Engineering, Observability, or infrastructure roles
• OpenTelemetry adoption, metric and label design, structured logging, and distributed tracing
• Dashboards and alerting that surface real problems early
• A background that includes time spent writing and shipping production software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve a unified, production-grade observability stack covering metrics, logs, and traces
• Build and maintain trusted alerting by tuning alerts against clear SLOs/SLIs
• Define, document, and drive adoption of instrumentation standards
• Enable product teams to diagnose and resolve incidents faster
• Run the observability platform like a product
• Provide clear technical direction for observability across the engineering organisation
