Senior Support Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

The Senior Support Infrastructure Engineer will support ANS's core infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. This role involves acting as an escalation point for complex issues, collaborating with the infrastructure team on maintenance, and working with vendors for smooth integration and support.

Qualifications

• Experience as an infrastructure engineer in an enterprise or multi-tenant environment.
• Experience with VMware 7 and above.
• Experience with SAN Storage Technologies (3par, Nimble, Netapp, Dell Compellent).
• Understanding of fundamental computer architecture, networking, virtualization, storage, and operating system concepts.
• Experience using backup technologies and disaster recovery.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Operational experience with NSX 3.0+ is desirable.
• Ability to produce high-quality documentation.
• Scripting abilities in Powershell and PowerCLI.
• Exposure to Cisco UCS.
• Willingness to provide on-call support.
• Eligibility for HMG Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Act as a third-line escalation point for the eCloud platform, supporting the team in resolving complex issues.
• Proactively monitor systems, identifying and addressing performance or stability issues.
• Collaborate with technical teams to deliver high-quality support across platforms.
• Take ownership of escalations with vendors, driving issues to resolution.
• Ensure platform stability and security through regular patching, firmware upgrades, and system maintenance.
• Support capacity planning and prepare the platform for future growth.
• Perform platform audits and health checks to maintain performance and compliance.
• Create and maintain clear, high-quality technical documentation and processes.
• Build strong working relationships across technical and commercial teams.
• Support change, incident management, and CAB processes in line with ANS standards.
• Assist senior platform engineers with the delivery of platform improvements and infrastructure changes.
• Occasionally support out-of-hours work for critical updates or platform changes.
