Job summary

The Senior Test Automation Engineer develops and optimizes automation strategies and frameworks for frontend, API, and regression tests. Key responsibilities include integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, making architectural decisions, and conducting code reviews while collaborating with German-speaking clients and project teams.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in software testing, with several years in practical test automation
• Very good knowledge of at least one relevant programming language, such as Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, or C#
• Practical experience with at least one established automation framework, such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or REST Assured
• Experience with frontend and API automation as well as Git and CI/CD
• Good understanding of test architecture, maintainable code, test pyramids, and risk-based automation
• Ability to explain technical decisions clearly and take responsibility for their implementation
• German language skills at least at C1 level, as client communication, workshops, and project documentation are primarily in German
• Willingness to work regularly at the location in Görlitz

Responsibilities

• Design test automation strategies and implement them with clients and project teams
• Develop and optimize frameworks for frontend, API, and regression tests
• Integrate automated tests and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines
• Make technical decisions regarding architecture, tools, maintainability, and execution strategies
• Analyze unstable tests, technical deviations, and quality risks, and derive concrete improvements
• Conduct code and concept reviews and share best practices within the team
• Moderate technical discussions and workshops with German-speaking clients
• Support the establishment and further development of QA and automation teams
