Service Assurance Systems - Site Reliability Engineer

Job summary

Support applications built by the Service Assurance Systems group, manage deployments, and investigate operational issues while driving the transition towards a modern DevOps culture.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Experience with SQL and data pipeline technologies
• Knowledge of data processing frameworks like Apache Airflow
• CI/CD experience with tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and Docker
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus
• Proficiency in Python scripting
• Strong communication skills for technical issues
• Experience with ITSM/ticketing systems
• Attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve incidents and service requests through the ServiceNow ticketing system
• Manage application deployments across development, staging, and production environments
• Monitor application and infrastructure health using observability tools
• Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines to improve automation
• Drive the adoption of DevOps practices within the SAS group
• Manage containerised workloads using Docker
• Write operational scripts in Python for automation
• Collaborate with developers to identify operational issues
• Maintain operational documentation including runbooks and incident post-mortems
• Provide updates on incidents and operational improvements
• Support on-call incident response as required
• Liaise with engineering teams for system changes
