ServiceNow Platform Engineer

Job summary

The ServiceNow Platform Engineer provides technical and consultative support on complex technical matters. This role involves analyzing, designing, and developing systems based on user specifications, utilizing in-depth knowledge of technical tools for systems development and support. The engineer will also maintain awareness of technical industry trends, potentially assist with training less experienced staff, and may serve as a project leader for specific projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or 4+ additional years of equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in application development, ITSM, and ServiceNow
• Experience with ServiceNow best practices and understanding of solutions to remediate technical debt in the Now platform
• Strong knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming (OOP)
• Experience with configuration and modification of the ServiceNow platform in areas such as IT Service Management (ITSM), Customer Service Management (CSM), Intelligent Apps, HR Service Delivery, Security Operations, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) or Integrated Risk Management (IRM), Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Business Management (ITBM), and IT Operations Management (ITOM)
• Familiarity with User Experience Tools, Service Intelligence, and Service Experiences
• Knowledge and experience working with Web Services, REST, and JSONv2

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve issues against ServiceNow applications
• Advise internal teams and lines of business regarding process and technology inefficiencies within the platform
• Perform routine maintenance including performance monitoring and error identification/remediation
• Maintain and improve the overall stability of the platform, ensuring best practices are identified and incorporated
• Manage Instance Security, User/Group access, roles and associated relationships, and Access Control Lists (ACLs)
• Provide training and knowledge across the platform to internal teams and external business partners
• Develop reporting strategy and maintenance plan for platform-wide reporting
