Site Reliability Engineer

Job summary

This Site Reliability Engineer helps scale cloud services by improving the reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of infrastructure supporting Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket Cloud. The role involves operating distributed production systems, building monitoring and alerts, maintaining dashboards and runbooks, debugging and improving code, and automating operational tasks across public cloud environments.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience operating distributed production software.
• At least one year of hands-on experience with public cloud offerings.
• Familiarity with Unix or Linux operating systems.
• Backend engineering experience in Java, Go, or Python.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues to varied audiences.
• Optional experience with EC2, Auto Scaling Groups, caches, SQS, or equivalents in GCP or Azure.
• Optional experience with relational, time-series, NoSQL, search, or analytics datastores.
• Optional experience with microservices, REST or GraphQL services and clients, JVM internals, garbage collection, or performance tuning.
