Site Reliability Engineer – Cloud Native Platform (OpenShift)

Job summary

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for the reliability, availability, and scalability of our Managed OpenShift platforms, focusing on continuous improvement through software engineering and automation.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer.
• Proven experience with Kubernetes, preferably Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Experience with observability platforms and monitoring complex platform environments.
• Knowledge of Linux, networking, and storage within Kubernetes environments.
• Hbo or wo work and thinking level and good command of Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Increase availability and stability of OpenShift platforms.
• Define and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets.
• Conduct reliability reviews and platform health assessments.
• Reduce operational risks and technical debt within the platform.
• Automate management activities using GitOps, Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Kubernetes Operators, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and manage observability solutions with Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, and the LGTM stack.
• Translate operational data into concrete improvements for services.
• Take technical lead during complex disruptions and perform Root Cause Analyses.
• Automate solutions for recurring incidents and contribute to Continual Service Improvement.
• Responsible for OpenShift upgrades, Kubernetes lifecycle management, platform hardening, capacity management, and Disaster Recovery validation.
• Collaborate with security specialists on security and compliance standards.
