Site Reliability Engineer - Compute - F/H/N

Job summary

Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of the Public Cloud compute stack in production, from operating-system provisioning through capacity exposure in OpenStack. The role covers incident response, end-to-end maintenance of Linux, kernel, FRR, virtualization, Nova, and Neutron components, host security, and observability using metrics, logs, alerting, and SLI/SLOs. It also contributes to advanced GPU management in Nova, including NVLink and NVSwitch support.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability of the compute stack through incident response, root-cause problem solving, and continuous improvement.
• Manage the software stack end to end, including the operating system, kernel, host routing, Nova compute, and Neutron agent.
• Compile and maintain kernel, virtualization, FRR, and OpenStack components, including versions, patches, and packaging.
• Harden and secure hosts and the virtualization layer through operating-system hardening, system configuration, and process isolation.
• Implement and operate observability using metrics, logs, alerting, and SLI/SLOs.
• Contribute to squad projects, including advanced GPU management support in Nova.
• Collaborate with product, security, architecture, and other engineering teams.
• Maintain code, testing, and documentation quality standards.
