Job summary
The Site Reliability Engineer architects and maintains auto-scaling AWS infrastructure serving more than 1.5 billion monthly page views, with a focus on availability, performance, security, and cost control. The role optimizes sharded MySQL databases and Vespa.ai search, automates infrastructure, and builds zero-downtime deployment pipelines using Terraform, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, and CodeBuild. It also includes incident response and participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience operating systems at scale in site reliability, platform engineering, or DevOps
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across frontend and backend systems
- Advanced command-line Linux skills
- Knowledge of AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes
- Experience building Docker images and Helm charts
- Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting
- Experience with sharded MySQL databases
- Experience with security compliance for large-scale web infrastructure and DDoS mitigation
- Proactive approach to preventing downtime and performance degradation
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- GitOps experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain auto-scaling AWS systems serving more than 1.5 billion monthly page views
- Maintain platform availability and resolve performance degradation and outages
- Scale and troubleshoot sharded MySQL databases and Vespa.ai search infrastructure
- Build zero-downtime deployment pipelines and production-parity development environments
- Automate resource provisioning and configuration management, with documentation and automated testing
- Enforce security protocols, mitigate DDoS attacks, and perform routine patch management
- Optimize AWS resource utilization and infrastructure costs
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
