Job summary
The Site Reliability Engineer builds tooling and infrastructure to monitor and manage autonomous Sentry towers, improving the reliability of systems deployed in harsh, remote locations. The role covers fleet-health observability, remote troubleshooting across compute, software, firmware, sensors, power, and connectivity, incident analysis, automated and staged updates, and reliability feedback to engineering teams. The work supports perimeter security systems that integrate sensor data into a common operating picture.

Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, systems engineering, or a similar production infrastructure role
- Strong Linux skills, including systemd, journald, log analysis, SSH-based remote debugging, and shell scripting
- Networking knowledge covering TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, ARP, firewalls, and connectivity troubleshooting
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana
- Proficiency in Python, Rust, or a similar language for automation and tooling
- Experience with incident response, root cause analysis, postmortems, and runbooks
- Ability to work across hardware and software boundaries
- Strong communication and coordination skills under time pressure
- Eligibility to obtain and hold a U.S. Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Build dashboards, alerts, and telemetry to monitor Sentry tower fleet health
- Diagnose remote issues across compute, software services, firmware, sensors, cameras, power controllers, and connectivity
- Analyze incidents to identify root causes
- Automate fleet configuration and software updates
- Plan and execute staged software, firmware, and configuration rollouts
- Review incident trends and recurring failure modes
- Maintain runbooks and troubleshooting guides
- Provide reliability feedback to hardware and software teams
- Participate in operational on-call or escalation rotations
