Job summary

The Site Reliability Engineer operates and improves a highly available Big Data ecosystem supporting global manufacturing operations, with data volumes at the exabyte scale. The role owns service reliability, performance, and scalability while advancing Python-, Go-, or Bash-based automation, ML-driven AIOps, observability, incident response, and infrastructure as code. It also helps establish the practices and technical standards of a new EMEA operational team in Cork.

Qualifications

• Experience in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering
• Linux systems troubleshooting experience
• Programming and automation experience with Python, Go, or Bash
• Practical AI/ML exposure in IT operations
• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, CI/CD, and networking fundamentals
• Production experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience with configuration management, API design, or open-source practice
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline; equivalent professional experience accepted

Responsibilities

• Own reliability, performance, and scalability of services and infrastructure
• Develop ML-driven alerting, anomaly detection, LLM-assisted operational tools, and automated incident triage
• Create dashboards, alerts, runbooks, SLOs, and SLIs for service observability
• Automate operations to reduce toil and improve ecosystem stability
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews, translating findings into improvements
• Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices and platform architecture
• Collaborate with global manufacturing engineering teams
• Establish practices and technical standards for the new EMEA operational team
• Mentor team members as the Cork team grows
