Job summary
The Site Reliability or Platform Engineer supports and develops on-premise infrastructure for production systems involving big data, real-time computation, and high availability. The role includes daily operations, Python automation, configuration management and task scheduling, backup and disaster recovery, and technical documentation. The environment uses self-hosted Kubernetes, Ceph, ZFS, Ansible, Terraform, monitoring stacks, BGP, Proxmox, and OpenStack.

Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience as an SRE or Platform Engineer
- Hands-on experience with self-hosted Kubernetes clusters
- Experience with Ceph block storage and S3, and ZFS
- Knowledge of monitoring and performance analysis tools such as InfluxDB, LGTM Stack, or ELK Stack
- Strong knowledge of Ansible and Terraform
- Understanding of networking and routing technologies such as BGP
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as Proxmox and OpenStack
- Cloud technology experience is a plus
- Fortigate experience is a plus
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
- Creative problem-solving with open-source solutions
Responsibilities
- Support, maintain, and develop the on-premise environment
- Operate production systems daily
- Develop Python scripts and automation
- Develop and maintain configuration management solutions and task schedulers
- Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies
- Maintain documentation for procedures, configurations, and programs
