Job summary

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering features to the business safely and sooner. You will use cutting-edge techniques and technologies to automate manual processes, maintain a self-healing system, and tie technology decisions to business goals. This role involves building and maintaining automated processes, infrastructure, and ephemeral environments through CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and configuration management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a DevOps, SRE, Cloud Engineer, or Software Development role.
  • Experience with a programming language (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with observability tooling across metrics, logs, and traces.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with a Cloud hosting provider (e.g., GCP).
  • Experience with an infrastructure as code tool (e.g., Terraform).
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Experience with a CI tool (e.g., Jenkins, Github Actions).
  • Awareness of networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, NAT, firewalls, port-forwarding, proxying).
  • Awareness of Kubernetes.
  • Awareness of MySQL and/or Postgresql databases.
  • Awareness of CDNs (e.g., Cloudflare, Cloudfront, Akama).

Responsibilities

  • Support the provision of ephemeral feature environments for development and testing.
  • Support, develop, and maintain automated pipelines.
  • Follow engineering practices for version control, testing, monitoring, and safe releases.
  • Identify and develop relevant skills continuously.
  • Ensure suitable security posture of infrastructure, applications, and changes.
  • Implement and support Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
  • Respond to, diagnose, and resolve production issues with other SMEs.
