Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Job summary

The Site Reliability Engineer owns the health, resilience, and recovery of production systems on a cloud-native capital markets platform. The role combines incident response and analysis with building automation, self-healing workflows, observability, and diagnostic tools to reduce operational toil and improve recovery times. It also measures reliability through SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs and supports safer deployments using technologies including Python, Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, ArgoCD, and Datadog.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Python skills for automation and tooling
• Experience in SRE, Production Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a related discipline with direct production ownership
• Track record of building automation or diagnostic tools that improve recovery times or reduce operational toil
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, distributed systems, and production failure modes
• Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog
• Exposure to Terraform and GitOps deployment workflows such as ArgoCD or GitHub Actions
• Familiarity with Java, Go, Kafka, Redis, Snowflake, or PostgreSQL
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Build monitoring and observability platforms that improve signal quality and accelerate root-cause analysis
• Develop automation and self-healing workflows to diagnose and recover from production incidents
• Analyze incidents and prevent recurring failure patterns
• Create reusable runbooks, diagnostic tools, and recovery playbooks
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment safety, and infrastructure resilience with Platform Engineering
• Measure production health using SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs and guide reliability priorities with data
• Promote Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and reliable engineering workflows
