Site Reliability Engineer (Systems Manager)

Job summary

The Systems Manager role is essential for ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of critical systems for a federal client. Responsibilities include designing and managing scalable systems, monitoring performance, conducting capacity planning, and implementing disaster recovery solutions using technologies such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitLab.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• Only U.S. citizens can be considered.
• 15+ years of relevant experience supporting IT platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools: Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab.
• Candidates must reside within a commutable distance for onsite work.
• This contract supports systems requiring 24x7x365 uptime.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
• Monitor and analyze system performance using monitoring and alerting tools.
• Conduct system capacity planning and scaling.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure application reliability and performance.
• Stay updated with industry best practices in site reliability engineering.
• Assist in creating and maintaining a training program.
• Participate in the organization’s change management process.
• Maintain detailed records of incidents for reporting.
• Gather and present PMR metric reporting to stakeholders.
• Use monitoring tools to identify and address potential issues.
• Collaborate with the Operations Support Center Lead for daily operations.
