Site Reliability Engineer (Systems Manager)

Job summary

The Systems Manager role is essential for ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of critical systems for a federal client. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining fault-tolerant systems, conducting capacity planning, and utilizing monitoring tools to address incidents, with technologies such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitLab.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• 15+ years of relevant IT experience is required.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, Jenkins, GitLab.
• Must reside within a commutable distance for onsite work.
• Availability for 24x7x365 uptime support.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
• Monitor and analyze system performance using monitoring and alerting tools.
• Conduct system capacity planning and scaling.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Collaborate with development teams for application reliability and performance.
• Stay updated with best practices in site reliability engineering.
• Assist in creating and maintaining a training program.
• Participate in change management processes.
• Maintain records of incidents for reporting.
• Gather and present PMR metric reporting.
• Use monitoring tools to identify and address potential issues.
• Collaborate with Operations Support Center Lead for daily operations.
