Site Reliability Engineer

Job summary

Tha*** is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to design and build tools and infrastructure that support their North American Team. The role involves improving the availability, reliability, performance, and security of the infrastructure while collaborating with various teams and participating in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional experience within a cloud/web/CDN scale infrastructure
• Experience with Python and Go
• Expert knowledge of Linux systems and network programming
• Experience with BGP and Anycast routing is a plus
• Experience with DevOps principles and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with big data technologies such as NoSQL/RDBMS
• Experience with containers and container management
• Experience in developing software and monitoring large scale distributed systems
• Implement software engineering best practices
• Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy infrastructure that supports platforms
• Apply SRE core tenets of measurement, eliminate toil, and reliability modelling
• Establish metrics for data-driven decisions to increase availability and reliability
• Build and maintain SLO and SLI network/system/application baselines
• Assist with go/no go preplanning and review of products/services
• Proactively analyze data and test network/system integrity
• Troubleshoot and resolve business affecting issues
• Participate in escalations, incident response, and postmortems
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
