Site Reliability Engineer

Job summary

Vancity is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to enhance the reliability, performance, security, and automation of their cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience with containers and Kubernetes platforms
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services
• Strong troubleshooting skills in networking and CI/CD
• Experience in cloud or hybrid production environments
• Experience with 24/7 production support and on-call rotation
• Experience with automating builds and infrastructure as code

Responsibilities

• Own availability and performance for key services
• Reduce MTTR through monitoring and remediation
• Build automated response workflows and improve runbooks
• Lead incident response and implement post-incident improvements
• Build Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/Bicep
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Automate deployments and configuration management
• Manage Azure Policies and compliance standards
• Implement secure controls and identity management
• Support platform upgrades and modernization efforts
• Contribute to cloud architecture patterns
• Optimize cloud environments for cost and performance
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
• Develop runbooks and automation playbooks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
