Job summary
The Site Reliability Engineer for Vehicle Software focuses on enhancing the reliability of vehicle software through observability, incident management, and automation. Responsibilities include building tooling, debugging Linux systems, and collaborating with software and field engineers to improve system performance. Proficiency in Python, C++, or Rust, along with experience in CI/CD and observability tools like DataDog and Prometheus, is essential.
Qualifications
- Write production-quality code in Python, C++, or Rust.
- Debug at the Linux and systems level, reading logs and tracing failures.
- Experience with CI/CD, containerization, networking, distributed systems, databases, and observability tools.
- Diagnose complex production or operational systems and see problems through to resolution.
- Effective communication skills across engineering, operations, and field teams.
Responsibilities
- Build and improve tooling, automation, observability, and incident-management processes for vehicle software reliability.
- Work closely with field engineers, software teams, and operations to diagnose reliability issues and improve system performance.
- Own hands-on debugging across Linux, low-level systems, logs, metrics, traces, and vehicle and production data.
- Develop reliability improvements that reduce manual intervention and make issue detection, triage, and recovery faster.
- Support vehicle-centric operations, including safety-operator tools and the reliability needs of customer and partner programs.
