The Site Reliability Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a cross-functional engineering team to enhance the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of applications. This role involves applying Site Reliability Engineering principles, improving observability and automation, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to manage priorities and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an engineering team to meet business objectives.
• Strong background in software engineering, systems engineering, and cloud architecture.
• Excellent knowledge of the software development lifecycle in cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of developing and managing RESTful API services using Java or .NET.
• Technical aptitude to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build partnerships across teams.
• Understanding of inner-source collaboration to improve reuse.
• Proven workload management and organisational skills in an agile environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Experience working with multi-vendor technical and business teams.
• Self-motivated, hands-on approach to engineering and people management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional group of engineers in applying Site Reliability Engineering principles.
• Improve observability and service automation to reduce operational overhead.
• Identify development opportunities for engineers and support their goals.
• Troubleshoot architectural and technology challenges.
• Define, implement and track Service Level Objectives.
• Collaborate with service, product and engineering communities.
• Partner with product and engineering managers to manage workload priorities.
• Oversee platforms that are performant, reliable, scalable and secure.
• Estimate, refine and prioritise the team’s workload.
• Drive continuous improvement across platform health and resilience.
• Create opportunities for innovation within the engineering team.
• Work with senior stakeholders to strengthen Site Reliability Engineering practices.
