Site Reliability Specialist

Job summary

Descartes Systems Group is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to enhance their cloud infrastructure by building reliable systems and collaborating with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of SysOps, SRE or DevOps experience.
• Strong knowledge in Linux and Windows system orchestration.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of public cloud environments (AWS and GCP).
• Experience with at least two scripting or programming languages.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Ansible & Terraform.
• Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Strong pipeline experience (Github, Azure DevOps).
• Knowledge of deploying applications in Python, Java, and .Net.
• Experience with monitoring tools (New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices.
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Redis, Mongo).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure platform.
• Communicate with teams to identify system dependencies.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain servers, network appliances, and cloud PaaS services.
• Implement and optimize monitoring and observability solutions.
• Apply best practices for system reliability, security, automation, and documentation.
• Suggest and implement optimizations for system performance.
• Create automated continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
• Build CI/CD Pipelines as Code.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues across systems.
• Maintain and update technical documentation and operational playbooks.
• Adhere to change management processes.
• Participate in on-call rotation and work outside standard hours as needed.
