Job summary
The Software and Infrastructure Engineer role focuses on developing, deploying, and maintaining the Open Research Europe publishing platform using Open Journal Systems (OJS). Key responsibilities include contributing to OJS application development, testing integrations, and assisting in infrastructure deployment with Kubernetes/OpenShift and CI/CD workflows.

Qualifications
- Experience in developing web applications, particularly with PHP and Laravel
- Familiarity with Open Journal Systems (OJS) source code and workflows
- Experience with containerized infrastructure and orchestration tools (Kubernetes or OpenShift)
- Knowledge of system administration, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation (e.g. Helm, GitLab CI)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, interest in open-source development
Responsibilities
- Develop OJS application and plugins, test integrations with external services
- Improve open-source projects such as OJS and related components
- Deploy and maintain Open Research Europe infrastructure using Kubernetes/OpenShift and CI/CD workflows
- Participate in system testing, performance checks, and operational support
