Job summary
The mid-level DevOps Software Engineer monitors live production operations to maintain the availability, reliability, and performance of a software application suite supporting a government mission. The role diagnoses service disruptions and performance issues, performs troubleshooting and corrective actions, supports system sustainment, and works with development and operations teams to improve system health and continuous service delivery. The environment includes Linux, Bash, Python, MongoDB, Docker, GitLab CI, Kubernetes, Helm, and monitoring tools such as ELK Stack and Prometheus/Grafana.

Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen and hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a favorable polygraph
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and three years of software engineering experience, or a bachelor's degree in the same fields and five years of experience, or seven years of software engineering experience
- Experience using Linux command-line tools
- Experience developing Bash scripts
- Recent Python 3 software development experience
- Experience with NoSQL databases, including MongoDB
- Experience with Docker and containerization
- Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools, including GitLab CI
- Experience with distributed logging and monitoring, including ELK Stack and Prometheus/Grafana
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Helm Charts
- Familiarity with messaging frameworks such as RabbitMQ
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible
- Experience with Git source control
Responsibilities
- Monitor live production operations to maintain application availability, reliability, and performance
- Identify, diagnose, and respond to service disruptions, performance degradation, and operational issues
- Perform basic troubleshooting and corrective actions
- Support system sustainment activities
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to maintain system health and improve operational efficiency
