Job summary

The Software Engineer 2 is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, documenting, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems.

Qualifications

• Experience developing in Unix
• Ability to perform shell scripting
• Knowledge of Configuration Management tools and Web Services
• Analyze user requirements for software design
• Debug software and correct defects
• Design and code new software or modify existing software
• Write or review software and system documentation
• Integrate existing software into new systems
• Develop data queries for databases
• Software development using languages such as C, C++, Python, Ruby, Perl, JavaScript
• Experience with agile development processes
• Experience with source code control systems like Git
• Serve as team lead in software development projects
• Design and develop database applications
• Use orchestration frameworks like Spring and Kafka
• Familiarity with queue management systems
• Develop algorithms to meet system performance standards
• Develop and execute test procedures for software components
• Modify software to adapt to new hardware
• Design software systems using scientific analysis
