Software Engineer (Cloud & DevOps)

Job summary

Develops and supports secure, scalable web applications and cloud infrastructure across the software development lifecycle for mission-critical RDT&E operations. The role covers JavaScript application development, Azure and AWS deployments, GitLab CI/CD automation, Docker and Kubernetes containerization with Helm, and secure software practices, including HashiCorp Vault secrets management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Five to eight years of relevant experience in software engineering, full-stack development, cloud engineering, DevOps, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and modern software development principles.
• Experience supporting applications or infrastructure in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience with GitLab version control, CI/CD pipelines, configuration, and automation.
• Knowledge of automated testing and container deployment using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Experience with HashiCorp Vault or comparable secrets management technologies.
• Understanding of secure coding, cybersecurity compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
• Must be able to maintain a Secret clearance and obtain a Top Secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and improve secure, scalable web applications for mission-critical RDT&E operations.
• Support application deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting in Azure and AWS environments.
• Build and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software delivery workflows.
• Develop and maintain Helm charts and support deployments in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Apply secure development practices and manage secrets using HashiCorp Vault.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders, engineering teams, system administrators, and cybersecurity personnel on technical solutions.
