Job summary

The role involves building distributed systems that provision, configure, and manage compute resources throughout their lifecycle, connecting global services with Kubernetes controllers. Key responsibilities include designing Kubernetes-based controllers, defining APIs for lifecycle operations, and improving control-plane throughput while managing GPU infrastructure across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• strong software engineering fundamentals
• experience designing, implementing, and owning production distributed systems
• experience developing infrastructure systems that use Kubernetes APIs
• understand how a bare-metal node moves from power-on to a configured system
• can design reliable APIs and asynchronous workflows
• can diagnose reliability and performance problems

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Kubernetes-based controllers and distributed services
• Define APIs and resource models for lifecycle operations
• Build provisioning and configuration services
• Develop lifecycle management for discovery, allocation, provisioning, upgrades, maintenance, recovery, and decommissioning
• Design reliable reconciliation and recovery through concurrent changes
• Improve control-plane throughput, API latency, and infrastructure state
