Job summary

The Software Engineer - DevOps role focuses on developing capabilities in support of the Australian Signals Directorate, ensuring secure and automated integration pipelines. Key responsibilities include designing and automating integration processes, implementing API management, and deploying software on Kubernetes platforms, while also addressing security risks and improving system performance.

Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Managing Kubernetes deployments with kubectl, Helm, or similar.
• Knowledgeable in DevOps practices and engineering standards.
• Skilled in CI/CD pipeline development with FluxCD, ArgoCD, or similar.
• Capable of designing automated software tests.
• Knowledge of LLM and underlying concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and automate integration pipelines connecting microservices, APIs, and legacy systems.
• Develop and automate continuous integration, delivery, and deployment processes.
• Implement and maintain API management and middleware components for inter-service communication.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance runtime integration performance and reliability.
• Analyse and document security risks related to integration points and DevOps processes.
• Design and deploy software on Kubernetes platforms ensuring stable integrations.
• Resolve ad-hoc integration and deployment issues to prevent downtime.
• Implement new technologies and integration patterns in a DevOps environment.
• Develop and maintain automated integration and end-to-end tests.
