Job summary

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase, you will design, provision, and operate a modern cloud data platform built on AWS and Databricks, collaborating with various teams to deliver scalable and secure infrastructure for reliable analytics workloads.

Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
  • Experience provisioning AWS infrastructure with Terraform
  • Experience with core AWS services relevant to cloud data platforms
  • Experience with Databricks platform administration and production workloads
  • Proficiency in Python or Java for automation and tooling
  • Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD practices
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud infrastructure and data pipelines
  • Experience using AI-assisted software development tools
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform
  • Develop and manage Databricks platform capabilities for production-grade data workloads
  • Build automation around platform provisioning and operations using Python or Java
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform deployments
  • Implement security best practices across the platform
  • Improve platform reliability through observability tooling and incident response practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable platform designs
  • Leverage AI coding assist tools to improve code quality and productivity
  • Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools to enhance automation value
