Job summary
The Software Engineering Manager II in Site Reliability Engineering is responsible for leading a team of site reliability engineers to ensure the uptime and performance of key services. Key responsibilities include owning end-to-end service availability, automating responses to service conditions, mentoring the team, and designing software to enhance the efficiency of Google's services.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of site reliability engineers on projects for users and be directly responsible for uptime.
- Own end-to-end availability and performance of key services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
- Automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
- Lead by example, mentor the team and establish credibility through quality technical execution.
- Perform, manage and improve on-call rotations, spanning multiple continents, ensuring healthy on-call practices and response.
- Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of Google's services.
