Software Platform Engineer, EU Traffic

Job summary

Build and operate a shared traffic platform that routes and secures requests across multiple on-demand delivery marketplaces. The role covers Cloudflare edge configuration, external ingress, and service-to-service authentication and authorization, as well as production troubleshooting, reliability, and on-call incident response. The systems are high-throughput and latency-sensitive, using technologies and concepts such as CDN, DNS, TCP/IP, gRPC, service meshes, AWS, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience in infrastructure, networking, platform engineering, or SRE
• Experience operating edge technologies at scale, such as CDN, WAF, proxy layers, and DNS
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTP/2, gRPC, and load balancing
• Experience with high-QPS or latency-sensitive systems
• Collaborative approach and comfort working amid ambiguity
• Ability to use coding agents across design, implementation, testing, incident response, and releases

Responsibilities

• Design and build large-scale distributed traffic systems
• Manage Cloudflare edge configuration and external traffic ingress
• Build and maintain service-mesh authentication and authorization
• Troubleshoot production issues and maintain service-level agreements
• Collaborate with platform and product engineers
• Improve productivity and operational capabilities through automation and AI tools
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead production investigations
• Mentor teammates through design reviews, pairing, and incident reviews
