Job summary
Develop and operate internal legal technology and AI applications, taking them from architecture and implementation through secure, reliable production deployment. The role combines software and platform engineering: building APIs, automations, data integrations, and internal tools with Python and/or TypeScript while establishing Microsoft Azure, security, monitoring, and deployment standards. It also includes CI/CD and infrastructure automation with GitHub Actions, Bicep, or Terraform, and practical integration of Azure OpenAI, LLMs, and RAG applications.

Qualifications
- Several years of practical experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or a comparable hybrid role
- Experience taking responsibility for production systems
- Good to very good knowledge of Microsoft Azure and experience operating secure production cloud applications
- Experience with CI/CD and automated build, test, and deployment pipelines
- Experience with infrastructure as code, ideally Bicep or Terraform
- Solid Python and/or TypeScript programming experience
- Experience developing and integrating APIs, web applications, or automation solutions
- Knowledge of Azure security and cloud governance, including identity, access control, secrets, logging, monitoring, and networking
- Experience with containerized applications or modern Azure deployment models
- Understanding of observability, troubleshooting, documentation, backup, and recovery
- Interest in AI applications; practical experience with Azure OpenAI, large language models, RAG, prompt engineering, or agentic systems is desirable
- Independent, structured, and pragmatic working style, with a willingness to take responsibility in a small team
- Very good German and English skills

- Build APIs, automations, data integrations, and internal tools
- Establish reusable Azure standards for deployment, security, monitoring, and operations
- Automate infrastructure and environments using infrastructure as code
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines
- Integrate AI technologies into secure, practical use cases
- Contribute to architecture decisions and analyze technical incidents
- Ensure applications are maintainable, scalable, and reliable
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with legal professionals and business teams
