Specialty Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

Manage and maintain cloud, network, and telecommunication infrastructure. This includes updating hardware, detecting system and application issues, ensuring smooth data and voice flow, and managing the security of computer systems. Improve, plan capacity, and design infrastructure engineering projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of relevant experience without a Bachelor’s degree
• Solid Cisco Catalyst route/switch experience
• Knowledge of BGP routing
• Cisco/Fortinet Firewall experience
• Cisco Wireless and Juniper Mist Wireless experience
• Juniper Routing and switching configuration experience
• Ability to go on-site to Sentara sites for troubleshooting, installation, repair, and replacement of physical networking equipment
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle
• Ability to work in active construction sites with appropriate PPE
• Ability to perform basic physical tasks such as lifting 25-50 lbs
• Occasional ladder use
• Ability to read
• Nimbleness of hands for typing and writing
