Job summary
Duo Health is seeking a Sr. Backend Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable Python backend services and REST APIs for their healthcare technology platform. The role involves mentoring teammates, improving platform reliability, and leveraging AI to enhance engineering workflows.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- 5+ years of Python backend development experience
- Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices
- Extensive experience with PostgreSQL
- Experience building and supporting API integrations with third-party platforms
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous processing
- Experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting production systems
Responsibilities
- Own the complete lifecycle of services
- Design and operate scalable Python backend services and REST APIs
- Build and maintain cloud-native applications in Kubernetes
- Design reliable integrations with healthcare platforms and APIs
- Develop and optimize PostgreSQL databases
- Improve platform reliability through observability and automation
- Collaborate with Product, Clinical Operations, QA, and engineers
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions
- Leverage Artificial Intelligence to enhance workflows
