Sr Cloud Platform Engineer

Job summary

Designs and maintains AWS cloud infrastructure for reliable, scalable retirement-services platforms. The role manages EKS and ECS Fargate, message brokers, RDS databases, and Redshift; develops infrastructure as code; and monitors environments with CloudWatch and Datadog. It also applies the AWS Well-Architected Framework to improve security, availability, performance, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar certification preferred.
• Experience designing and managing AWS services, including EKS, Fargate, MQ, RDS, and Redshift.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code and automation tools.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in team and client-facing environments.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible to work permanently in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage highly available, scalable Amazon EKS clusters.
• Use Amazon ECS Fargate for serverless container orchestration.
• Configure and maintain message brokers for distributed applications.
• Manage and optimize Amazon RDS SQL databases, including performance and availability.
• Implement and tune Amazon Redshift for data warehousing and analytics.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code with CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
• Configure CloudWatch and Datadog to monitor AWS environment health, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and platform teams to identify business needs and recommend AWS services.
• Apply the AWS Well-Architected Framework to improve operational excellence, security, reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
