Job summary
The Senior DevOps Engineer builds and evolves the platform behind SaaS products that automate medical risk assessment for life, health, and travel insurance. The role enables product teams to build, test, and deploy software independently through CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation with Terraform and AWS CDK, and resilient AWS architectures. It also advances observability, incident response, DORA metrics, and engineering practices across teams.

Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE roles.
- Deep AWS expertise, including IAM, VPC, EC2, ECS or EKS, Lambda, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, and RDS.
- Strong coding skills in Python, Go, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Experience designing large-scale CI/CD and release engineering, including progressive delivery.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or AWS CDK at scale.
- Production experience with Docker and Amazon ECS or EKS.
- Experience supporting microservices in distributed production environments.
- Experience establishing repository standards, governance, and security controls across multiple teams.
- Experience with observability tooling and production incident response.
- Strong Linux, networking, and cloud security fundamentals.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence without authority.
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve a DevOps platform that enables end-to-end build, test, and deployment workflows.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with blue-green, canary, and progressive rollout strategies.
- Provision consistent, auditable environments using Terraform and AWS CDK.
- Define repository, branching, code quality, and automation standards across teams.
- Partner with architects and developers on scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-region design.
- Lead monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting practices.
- Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews, and apply lessons to platform improvements.
- Introduce and track DORA metrics.
- Write documentation and runbooks, and coach engineers through pairing, code reviews, and design reviews.
