Sr. GitLab DevSecOps Engineer

Job summary

The Senior GitLab DevSecOps Engineer delivers installation, migration, training, and advisory services that help public sector customers adopt and expand GitLab. The role plans deployments ranging from single-node Omnibus installations to larger reference architectures, guides GitLab and CI/CD practices, and manages multiple customer engagements through completion. It also shares field insights with product and engineering teams to resolve customer blockers and improve delivery.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required; CI Poly preferred.
• Professional experience with infrastructure as code or configuration as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, or Chef.
• Experience leading technical delivery, including discovery, planning, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
• Experience in consulting, technical advisory, or customer-facing IT environments.
• Professional experience with DevOps or DevSecOps practices, processes, and tools.
• Working knowledge of GitLab repositories, CI/CD pipelines, pipeline configuration, and automated software delivery workflows.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle processes and continuous integration and delivery concepts.
• Ability to work effectively with government customers and adapt to changing technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver GitLab installation, migration, training, and advisory engagements.
• Plan and execute GitLab deployments, from single-node Omnibus installations to larger reference architectures.
• Migrate customers from source systems to GitLab SaaS or self-managed GitLab, minimizing disruption during cutovers.
• Advise customers on GitLab features and practices suited to their goals and operating environments.
• Coordinate with project and engagement managers to improve delivery consistency and keep work on schedule.
• Manage multiple customer projects while balancing delivery priorities and billable time.
• Mentor Professional Services Engineers and contribute to repeatable delivery practices.
• Share customer insights with product and engineering teams to resolve blockers and improve features and delivery processes.
