Sr Lead AI Platform Engineer

Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer at the Senior VP level to design and manage the platform, tooling, and infrastructure for AI and machine learning products.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Advanced proficiency in Python and infrastructure-as-code
• Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native deployment patterns
• Strong CI/CD experience and track record of building deployment automation
• Experience serving, scaling, and monitoring ML models in production
• Practical experience with observability tooling and production incident response
• Experience operating ML workloads in production
• Strong communication skills and ability to set standards
• Industry-recognised container/Kubernetes certification
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

Responsibilities

• Design and build the team's platform: deployment pipelines, model serving, containerisation, orchestration, and environment management
• Set the standard for reliability, observability, and operational excellence across production AI/ML services
• Build tooling and paved paths for AI engineers to ship products safely and quickly
• Implement platform-level security, secrets management, and access controls
• Partner with data and AI engineers to productionise models and reduce operational dependency
• Lead capacity, cost, and performance management for compute and inference workloads
• Mentor platform and DevOps engineers and set engineering standards
