Job summary

The Senior Platform Engineer leads the design and development of a scalable, resilient, high-performing PnL reporting platform for a next-generation Trading Risk Warehouse, serving risk analysts, front-office traders, and senior executives. The role manages infrastructure and environments, resolves system bottlenecks, automates operations, and improves continuous integration and delivery across large-scale Hadoop, web, and ETL platforms.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years managing and supporting large-scale, mission-critical platforms.
• At least 8 years of Linux system administration experience.
• At least 6 years managing Git and CI/CD tools, including Maven and Jenkins, in an Agile environment.
• Strong experience administering Hadoop platforms, including HDFS, Spark, and Hive.
• Experience with large-scale platform migrations.
• Experience managing web and service/API platforms.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka.
• Experience with RDBMS and fluency in SQL; Cassandra or another non-relational database experience preferred.
• Experience implementing and managing system monitoring tools.
• Experience developing and managing highly scalable, low-latency systems.
• Proficiency in automation programming with Unix shell scripting, Python, or another programming language.
• Experience managing large-scale web and ETL platforms.
• Cloud platform experience is an asset.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, including collaboration in global, fast-paced teams.
• People management skills.
• Hands-on market risk or PnL reporting experience is an asset.

• Build and maintain a stable, reliable, secure, scalable, high-performing platform.
• Manage hardware, software, storage resources, and multiple integrated environments.
• Improve code promotion processes and developer productivity.
• Maintain the stability of the platform and Trading Risk Warehouse ecosystem.
• Identify and resolve system bottlenecks and recurring issues.
• Promote continuous integration, continuous delivery, and engineering best practices.
• Automate existing processes and workflows.
• Explore technologies and capabilities to improve the platform.
• Collaborate with development and production operations teams to troubleshoot issues and enhance the platform.
