Job summary
The Sr. Principal Linux Systems Administrator at Ray*** will lead a team to support critical programs involving classified information systems. The role involves managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux infrastructure, ensuring compliance with security requirements, and mentoring junior administrators.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Advanced experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
- Experience mentoring individuals and teams.
- Must obtain DoD Directive 8140 / 8570 Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent).
- Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux infrastructure.
- Act as a senior technical resource for IT systems and applications.
- Partner with Cybersecurity teams for compliance and documentation.
- Mentor junior administrators in maintenance and operational tasks.
- Lead technical meetings with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Develop and enforce system administration processes and standards.
- Participate in Change Request reviews and Change Management Boards.
