Sr Software Dev Ops Engineer

Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Sr. Software DevOps Engineer to lead the design, automation, and support of their observability stack across various platforms. The role involves mentoring a team, driving reliability, and collaborating with engineering and security teams to implement observability standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience SRE, observability, platform engineering, or related fields
• Deep expertise in managing Elastic Cloud
• Hands-on experience with Dynatrace and Prometheus monitoring stacks
• Strong experience with AWS services
• Proven leadership and mentorship experience
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, implementation, and lifecycle management of the observability platform
• Lead efforts to improve logging, monitoring, metrics collection, distributed tracing, and alerting
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and architecture teams to define SLIs/SLOs
• Evangelize for all observability-related initiatives and mentor junior engineers
• Integrate observability tools into CI/CD pipelines
• Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews
