SRE and Observability Engineer

Job summary

Leads the assessment and design of an enterprise observability platform spanning Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The role evaluates monitoring, logging, tracing, and incident processes; establishes observability standards and SLI/SLO frameworks; and develops architecture recommendations, implementation roadmaps, and AIOps and automation strategies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• 5+ years designing enterprise-scale observability platforms.
• Strong understanding of Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Experience with SLI/SLO frameworks and reliability engineering practices.
• Knowledge of cloud-native monitoring, distributed tracing, logging, and application performance monitoring.
• Experience creating technology roadmaps and supporting large-scale platform modernization.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder advisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess monitoring, logging, tracing, and operational tooling across multi-cloud environments.
• Identify monitoring gaps, duplicate tools, alert fatigue, and operational inefficiencies.
• Evaluate incident management, escalation, and service restoration processes.
• Define observability standards, governance, and architecture principles.
• Develop a phased observability implementation roadmap.
• Design scalable, centralized observability architecture and monitoring patterns for cloud-native services.
• Define Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives.
• Recommend practices to improve resilience, service reliability, incident response, and mean time to resolution.
• Evaluate AIOps opportunities and design event correlation, alert noise reduction, and root-cause analysis approaches.
• Develop incident detection, remediation automation, predictive monitoring, and capacity forecasting strategies.
• Prepare current-state assessments, gap analysis reports, target-state architecture, and implementation recommendations.
• Collaborate with technical teams and present findings to technical and business leadership.
