STACKIT Platform Services - Site Reliability Engineer (m/f/d)

Job summary

Design and operate sovereign cloud services and reliable messaging infrastructure, ensuring low-latency performance, fault tolerance, and resilience across production platforms. Establish SLO practices, build self-service integration capabilities, conduct Chaos Engineering tests and incident simulations, and lead post-mortems and root cause analyses. The role works with Go, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and platform services including PubSub, KMS, Secrets Manager, DNS, and MailOut.

Qualifications

• Experience with Go, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and production environment automation.
• Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering, distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and automation.
• Familiarity with error budgets, SLAs, SLOs, SLIs, and Chaos Engineering.
• Understanding of operational requirements for platform services such as PubSub, KMS, Secrets Manager, DNS, and MailOut.
• Ability to design highly available and reliable platform services.
• Interest in exploring technologies such as OpenTelemetry and sharing knowledge with teams and communities.
• Ability to analyze underlying data structures and optimize them for high-cardinality environments.

• Implement disaster recovery and failover strategies and tune operating systems for low-latency delivery.
• Set standards and practices for continuously meeting SLOs.
• Define application development best practices and build a self-service platform for configuring integrations.
• Conduct Chaos Engineering tests and incident response simulations.
• Lead production incident post-mortems and root cause analyses, and implement corrective measures.
