Staff AI Platform Engineer: Agent & Retrieval Infrastructure

Job summary

The Staff AI Platform Engineer will lead the architecture of AI agents and the infrastructure necessary for ocean data management. Key responsibilities include designing the Amazon Bedrock integration, managing the end-to-end retrieval pipeline using Amazon OpenSearch Serverless, and implementing robust security measures such as IAM access controls and audit trails. This role requires extensive experience in software and infrastructure engineering, particularly with AWS services and data engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software and infrastructure engineering
• deep production backend experience
• hands-on experience standing up Amazon Bedrock in production
• containerized service deployment on ECS, EKS, or Lambda
• practical RAG and vector search experience
• real data engineering
• strong AWS ecosystem expertise
• production LLM exposure
• experience designing developer-facing APIs
• experience building and operating multi-tenant services
• demonstrated technical leadership
