Staff Engineer (Dev Ops)

Job summary

As a DevOps Staff Engineer, you will lead and mentor the DevOps team while overseeing daily operations, including build/release management and CI/CD pipelines. Your role involves driving technical decisions, collaborating with engineering and product teams, and implementing automation solutions to enhance delivery speed and system reliability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
• Proven expertise in CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins
• Scripting skills (e.g., bash, groovy, Python)
• Strong experience with Terraform and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes-based deployments
• Proficiency in containerization tools (e.g., Docker)
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Cockroach DB)
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Kloudfuse, Sumo Logic, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK stack)
• Deep understanding of deployment pipelines and system security best practices
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Passionate about DevOps practices and modern infrastructure
• Experience with artifact repository tools (e.g., Nexus, JFrog)
• Exposure to security and compliance requirements in CI/CD preferred
• Cloud or Kubernetes-related certifications preferred
• Experience integrating DevOps practices into SDLC preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the DevOps team, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Oversee daily DevOps operations including build/release management and CI/CD pipelines
• Drive technical decisions and provide guidance on tooling and automation strategies
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, and product teams to prioritize work and ensure seamless deployment
• Identify opportunities for automation to improve delivery speed
• Ensure system scalability, performance, and security in all DevOps solutions
• Monitor and improve infrastructure reliability and observability
• Advocate for best practices in DevOps and promote a collaborative team culture
