Job summary

This engineer builds and maintains automation, developer environments, and CI/CD infrastructure for the Hivemind Solutions software development lifecycle, with a focus on speed, reproducibility, and security. The work includes optimizing GitLab pipelines and runner fleets for C++, Python, and Node.js; integrating GitLab, Jira, and Confluence; deploying the Forge simulation and test orchestrator in Azure Gov Cloud; securing Artifactory and container builds; and migrating projects to Nix environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience building, maintaining, and scaling enterprise CI/CD systems, including GitLab pipelines and runner infrastructure.
  • Experience writing Bash or Python scripts and using webhooks or APIs to integrate engineering tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, multi-stage builds, and package managers such as Conan, Poetry, or Nix.
  • Familiarity with deploying and managing workloads in cloud environments such as Azure Gov Cloud or AWS.
  • Experience with secure software development, secret management, and identity providers such as Active Directory or Entra ID.
  • Linux system administration, networking, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and runner environments for C++, Python, and Node.js projects.
  • Automate workflows across GitLab, Jira, and Confluence using integrations, webhooks, and scripts.
  • Develop Python or Bash extensions for the pi-gov harness and configure secure LLM routing and local containers.
  • Deploy and scale the Forge simulation and test orchestrator in Azure Gov Cloud.
  • Maintain secure Artifactory registries and container builds using BuildKit, secret injection, and Entra ID.
  • Migrate legacy build systems to reproducible Nix developer environments.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures, broken builds, registry access issues, and configuration drift.
